Ultra-high-frequency (UHF)
RFID tags: 300 MHz to 3GHz
UHF RFID tags are known as "supply chain frequency" tags because they are often less
expensive than other types while yet delivering adequate scan ranges and rates. Item-level
tracking, retail inventory control, and driving supply chain efficiencies are common
applications.
The UHF RFID frequency was introduced most recently and is the ideal band in logistics and
asset management. The reading distance is substantially longer than that of HF tags one,
with reading ranges of up to 12-15 metres and, in exceptional situations, up to 30 metres.
